~ Hirose
Bambusa sp. ‘Hirose’
Out of all the bamboos that are available, Bambusa Hirose has the most to offer.
This is a species of unknown origin. Some say it originated on the Big Island from the seeds of Bambusa oldhamii. Nonetheless, it produces very hard and large diameter timber that has undergone laboratory analysis and proven to be one of the strongest timber producers. Excellent as both a windbreak and privacy barrier. Can be planted as a easily manageable hedge. 55’ tall with 4” culms. Clumping bamboos can be planted without fear of them spreading beyond their assigned territory, making them non-invasive.
